Job Details:

  • Full-time position
  • 7+  years of legal experience
  • Must be barred in PA
  • Compensation includes salary + bonus
  • Benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, 401K, and parking


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on insurance coverage and bad faith matters
  • Conducting thorough legal research and analysis 
  • Drafting coverage opinions, reservation of rights letters, and coverage denial letters.
  • Drafting pleadings, discovery requests, and opinion letters
  • Representing clients in litigation matters in state and federal court
  • counseling clients on insurance matters


Education and Experience: 

  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Prior Insurance Coverage/Bad Faith Experience is required
  • Licensed to Practice law in PA 
  • Excellent Writing Skills (Law Review Experience is a plus)

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize strong communication skills to support effective information flow across internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Develop expertise in electronic filing systems and serve as a key resource for jurisdiction-specific filings firm-wide
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely submission of billable time for attorneys and team members
  • Support discovery efforts by assisting with document requests and conducting legal and factual research
  • Assist with litigation preparation, including organizing exhibits and documentation for depositions, hearings, and trials, and drafting motions, correspondence, and standard case-related documents
  • Organize, review, and analyze records while preparing chronologies and case summaries to support litigation strategy
  • Other duties as needed.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of paralegal experience at a law firm
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certificate is required
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court rules, and e-filing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines

Legal Assistant

Proxy Legal Staffing & Search is partnering with a reputable law firm in the Pittsburgh market seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their legal career who is looking to gain hands-on experience and grow within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to litigation attorneys
  • Draft, format, and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and correspondence
  • Manage and maintain case files (electronic and physical)
  • Coordinate filings in state and federal courts (including e-filing)
  • Track deadlines and maintain attorney calendars
  • Assist with discovery, including organizing documents and preparing responses
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and client meetings
  • Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel as needed

Qualifications:

  • 1–3 years of prior law firm experience, with a focus on litigation
  • Familiarity with court rules and filing procedures (state and/or federal)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
