TOPS Staffing is hiring a Production Laborer for a manufacturing company specializing in steel fabrication and cutting operations. This role will support the finishing side of production by performing deburring and deslagging work on metal parts coming off automated pipe cutting and laser cutting machines.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to get into manufacturing with a company that offers long-term growth potential and strong earning opportunities once hired on permanently.
Position Overview
In this role, you will work with finished steel parts and pipes coming off production equipment. Your primary responsibility will be removing sharp edges, slag, and burrs using grinders, files, and other hand tools to ensure finished parts are clean, safe, and ready for the next stage of production.
No blueprint reading or measuring experience is required for this position—just a strong work ethic and willingness to perform hands-on labor work consistently throughout the shift.
Key Responsibilities
• Deburr and clean steel pipes and flat metal parts
• Use grinders, files, and hand tools to smooth cut edges
• Inspect finished pieces for sharp edges or excess slag
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist production team as needed
What We’re Looking For
• Comfortable performing physical, repetitive work in a manufacturing environment
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Willingness to learn and grow within the company
Nice to Have Skills

• Previous manufacturing or fabrication shop experience
Growth Opportunity
This role is commonly used as an entry point into higher-level machine operator positions within the company. Employees who develop additional skills such as measuring, blueprint reading, and machine operation may have the opportunity to move into operator roles over time.
Additional Earning Potential After Hire-On
Once hired directly by the company, employees become eligible for a monthly profit-sharing bonus program, which has historically paid out an additional $1,000–$1,500 per month on average. This provides excellent long-term earning potential beyond the hourly rate.
