Entry Level Machine Operator / Spot Welder – Union Manufacturing Opportunity

TOPS Staffing is hiring Entry Level Machine Operators and Spot Welders for a well-established manufacturing company offering long-term career opportunities, steady overtime, union benefits, and advancement potential.

Pay & Schedule

  • Starting Pay: $19-$20/hr
  • Shift Differentials:
    • Afternoon Shift: +$0.55/hr
    • Overnight Shift: +$0.65/hr
  • Many positions progress to $24-$32/hr based on department and position
  • Monday-Friday schedule
  • Daily and weekend overtime available
  • Saturday overtime paid at Time & 1/2 with Double Time opportunities
  • Sunday paid at Double Time

Available Shifts

  • 7:00am – 3:00pm
  • 3:00pm – 11:00pm
  • 11:00pm – 7:00am

Most openings are currently on afternoon and overnight shifts.

IMPORTANT: Candidates MUST be open to working ANY shift. Shift assignments and future opportunities are based on a union bidding and seniority system.

Position Overview

Most new hires begin in an entry-level Spot Welder / Machine Operator role.

This position involves operating a spot welding machine used in the manufacturing of metal clamp assemblies. No prior welding experience is required — the machine performs the weld automatically.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Load and position metal components into the machine
  • Operate machine using foot pedal controls
  • Inspect finished products for quality
  • Move completed parts into finished containers
  • Maintain production pace and quotas
  • Perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift
  • Follow safety and quality procedures
  • Maintain a clean work area

This position can be performed seated or standing depending on operator preference.

What We Are Looking For

  • Reliable attendance is REQUIRED
  • Comfortable performing repetitive work
  • Manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
  • Mechanically inclined candidates encouraged to apply
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Must be able to pass a mechanical and math assessment
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be open to any shift assignment

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze a high volume of commercial contracts across multiple agreement types.
  • Identify, extract, and organize language related to key contractual provisions, including assignment, change of control, termination, indemnification, confidentiality, governing law, limitation of liability, and other standard commercial clauses.
  • Review complete contract files, including exhibits, schedules, amendments, addenda, and related documents to ensure all relevant provisions are captured.
  • Prepare standardized contract summaries and organize key provisions for review by in-house attorneys.
  • Maintain consistency, accuracy, and completeness throughout the contract review process.
  • Collaborate with members of the legal department and cross-functional stakeholders to support ongoing commercial contract initiatives.
