AllTek Staffing is partnering with one of the consulting engineering firms in the Pittsburgh region that specializes in the design of specialty water treatment systems.  They are looking to add a Mid-Level Electrical Designer to their design team.

Job Details:
Contract to Hire at 6 months.
Paid Weekly & access to a 401k after 90 days of employment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Read & understand the design plan
  • Develop detailed PLC or DCS IO Lists
  • Develop detailed drawings for Electrical & Control systems such as
    • Local junction & solenoid boxes,
    • PLC control panels and other starter panels as per the requirements identified in the design plans.
    • Interconnecting cable schedule,
    • Interconnecting cable tray design,
    • Motor control centers & other power equipment
    • Develop an accurate Bills of materials for fabrication,
    • Any other equipment designs as per requirements identified, specific to individual projects.
  • Use check lists to verify the drawings for factual accuracy, prior to engineering release of drawings.
  • Review & reconcile the design that has been developed.
  • Undertake drawing revisions. This may involve cross discipline necessitated changes, or customer comments.
  • Participate in interdepartmental meetings as needed to facilitate the integration of design across disciplines.
  • Provide technical support during fabrication and/or other site queries as required during fabrication. Assembly & startups/ commissioning
  • Provide support to other employees in the department as required

Education and Experience:
  • Proficient in Electrical & Control systems design, NEC & IEC codes, AutoCAD / AutoCAD Electrical, MS Word & Excel
  • Working knowledge of ISA, NEC, NEMA, UL, NFPA, IEC, CE, API & other equivalent international standards
  • Familiar with the implementation of process instrumentation and control systems, electrical engineering as applicable to power/process industries
  • Experience in design & engineering with PLC / HMI including programming or DCS & control system design
  • Must be able to read Instrumentation/ Electrical /Control System drawings and P&IDS.
