Finish Grinding Technician
Location: Irwin, PA
Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (4x10-hour shifts)
Pay Rate: Starting at $20.50/hour
Overview:
Join our team as a Finish Grinding Technician, where precision and craftsmanship are at the heart of what you do. In this role, you will be instrumental in preparing high-quality valves for shipment by using hand and bench grinders to deburr, polish, and finish components to meet strict quality standards. Key Responsibilities:
- Use hand tools, buffing wheels, and polishing equipment to remove burrs and rough machining marks from valve parts.
- Operate and monitor automatic polishing machines to achieve a smooth, high-quality finish.
- Use profilometers or other surface measurement devices to ensure the finish meets specified standards.
- Conduct hand lapping and polishing as needed to perfectionize component surfaces.
- Assist with rework and quality improvement tasks to meet client specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following 5S standards.
- Set up, modify, and maintain tooling and supplies to ensure consistent quality.
- Support general shop duties, including cleaning, tool inventory, and assisting team members.
Qualifications:
- Ability to operate buffing wheels, hand tools, and polishing equipment safely and effectively.
- Experience with surface measurement tools such as profilometers is preferred.
- Able to work from detailed instructions and adhere to quality standards.
- Basic understanding of rework processes and troubleshooting.
- Reliable and punctual with a valid driver’s license and the ability to provide ID for background checks.
- Must be able to commute to the shop location independently, as public transportation options are limited.
