Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Oil & Gas Production & Transportation Projects
Overview:
As a Mechanical Engineer with our client, you will be integral to the design, analysis, and execution of critical mechanical systems within oil and gas facilities, including pipeline pumping stations, compressor stations, storage tanks, plant facilities, and metering stations. Your expertise will ensure projects meet industry standards and regulatory requirements while optimizing operational efficiency. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, oversee procurement activities, and participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and safety audits. This role demands a proactive, self-motivated professional ready to handle complex projects from conception to completion, making a tangible impact in the energy sector.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant Oil & Gas industry experience
- Proven expertise with process control system design and analysis
- Strong knowledge of industry codes such as ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, and DOT CFR 49 Sections 192 and 195
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., ProMax, HYSYS)
- Ability to perform detailed engineering calculations, sketches, and designs for high-pressure mechanical equipment (pumps, compressors, valves, tanks, vessels, etc.)
- Familiarity with technical specifications review, vendor documentation evaluation, and bid analysis
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule effectively
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with P&IDs, Process Flow Diagrams, and piping design
- Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and HAZOP procedures
- Prior involvement in procurement oversight and technical bid evaluation
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to oil and gas facilities
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
- 5+ years of progressive experience in oil and gas processing, pipeline, or facilities engineering
- Prior hands-on experience with process control systems and simulation tools
Other Requirements:
- Must possess legal authorization to work in the US
- Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites as needed
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance standards
