  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulatory requirements
  • Certification in structural analysis or related field

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant civil engineering experience

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Work with discipline leads to establish budgets for tasks and deliverables and make sure they are distributed and maintained.
  • Coordinate work of other lead designers assigned to the task.
  • CAD Design of basic equipment layouts, piping routings that are consistent with codes, standards, and client requirements.
  • Ensure that discipline leads have the correct project standards and checklists.
  • Maintain and update the overall 3D model as required.
  • Participate in meetings with clients as requested by Project Manager.
  • Assure all QA / QC standards are adhered to.


Education / Experience:

  • Associates Degree in Drafting or Design with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • On-hands experience in developing equipment, overall facility layouts, preparation of overall 3D piping model, preparation of orthographic drawings, isometrics, bill of materials, and selection and design of piping supports.
  • Strong understanding of piping systems for industrial systems.
  • Hands-on experience with 3D design products like CADWorx, Plant 3D or Autoplant.

TOPS Staffing is currently looking to hire a few qualified machine operators for a growing client in Petersburg, VA.  

In this position you will be operating a state of the art Laser cutting table machine, to process plate steel moving through out facility.   As an operator you will be responsible for loading and unloading your machine, operation of the machine itself, making any adjustments needed from the HMI screen on the machine, and quality checks (measuring pieces and confirming holes or cut outs are accurate)

Ideally we are looking for individuals with prior fabrication or machine shop experience,  any sort of CNC background would be extremely helpful.

Job Details:
Afternoon shift position – Monday to Friday
Hours: 3pm to 11:30pm
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Pay rate: Starting pay rate of $21.00 per hour while working on contract to hire; company offers a profit sharing program once hired on directly that offers a monthly bonus of between $1000 to $1500 each month to your  pay check depending on how the company is performing.


Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Operation of laser cutting tables
  • Loading and unloading of machine - Use of overhead crane
