CNC Machine Operator – Daylight Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Pay: Based on experience level

TOPS Staffing is hiring a CNC Machine Operator for an exciting new manufacturing division with a well-established local company. The company recently purchased a new facility and invested in brand-new equipment to support this growing operation.

This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a newly created department. The supervisor has already been hired, and this position will be the second team member added. The long-term plan is to grow the department into a team of 3–5 employees as production expands.

Position Overview

This role will operate a CNC-controlled production machine used to manufacture custom products. Previous experience with the specific equipment is not required. We are seeking candidates with CNC machine operation experience, strong measuring skills, and the ability to learn new equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC-controlled production equipment
• Read work orders, drawings, and production specifications
• Verify dimensions using tape measures, calipers, and other measuring tools
• Load materials and monitor machine performance during production runs
• Perform quality checks to ensure products meet specifications
• Make basic machine adjustments and report issues as needed
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation
• Keep work area clean, organized, and safe

Qualifications

• Previous CNC machine operation experience required
• Strong measuring skills and ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Experience using calipers and other measuring devices preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn new equipment quickly
• Ability to work independently and stay organized
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
• Manufacturing experience preferred

TOPS Staffing partnered with a growing family owned manufacturing company in Butler, PA. Our client is currently looking to hire several new employees for both its daylight and evening shift operations.  
 

• CNC cutting table operator
• Industrial router or Sander operator
• Bender machine operator – Bending pieces of metal track to specified shapes
• Saw operator – Typically using either a chop or miter saw to cut metal track or frame pieces
• Material handler – Loading and unloading of product during production process
• Various Assembly related roles
• Finish packaging roles
• Overhead crane operators
• Truck loading and unloading positions

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be able to read a tape measure accurately – we have cheater tape measures
• Must be willing to learn on the job, we are willing to train and will consider all levels of current experience.  This includes entry-level. 

• Must be able to lift 45lbs on a regular basis
• Must be able to be on your feet for most of your shift hours
• Must be able to push or pull loaded carts around production facility

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $30.00 (pay determined from prior experience) 
Location: Canonsburg, PA
Shift: 

• Training on 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Permanent Schedule: Swing Shift (alternating 1st & 2nd)
• Steady 2nd Shift available upon request
• 2nd Shift Hours: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• +$1.00/hr Shift Differential for 2nd Shift

Required Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions

• Forklift or overhead crane experience is a plus, with training available

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience with waterjet cutting or similar manufacturing machinery
• Experience supporting quality checks and inspection processes
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous experience in manufacturing, CNC, laser, or plasma operations highly desirable
• Hands-on experience with blueprints and measurement tools

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to undergo training on 1st shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM)
• Flexibility to work on swing shifts or the steady 2nd shift upon request
• Ability to support production goals while maintaining high safety standards
