Some of Yinz let vacation days go unused each year, often out of guilt, fear of falling behind, or pressure to always be available. But taking your full allotment of time off isn’t just a perk it’s essential for your well-being and your career.

Time away from work allows your mind and body to reset. Studies show that employees who take regular vacations report lower stress, improved sleep, and better overall health. When you step away, you give yourself space to recharge, which ultimately helps prevent burnout.

Using your vacation days also improves productivity. Returning with fresh energy and perspective makes you more focused, creative, and effective. In fact, many people find their best ideas come after a break from routine.

There’s also the personal side, vacations create memories with family and friends, allow you to explore new experiences, or simply give you the chance to rest. These moments strengthen relationships and enrich your life outside of work, n’at.

Vacation days are part of your compensation. Leaving them unused is essentially giving up something you’ve earned. So go to the away game, take a trip, spend time with loved ones, or just relax yinz will come back better for it.
