One of the challenges you learn early on in the Staffing industry is that holidays are not good for your business. Why? If people are not working, you are not making money. It is only November 25th and we have Clients that are talking about pushing start dates until January 2026. In our world, 2026 seems further than it is. When you combine this with people using vacation time, it can become difficult to schedule meetings and conversations with Clients.
The good news with the end of the year market is that people become less busy. Although it becomes difficult to get people placed at our Clients, having conversations with candidates can be easier to schedule. This becomes a good time to build and develop new relationships. This can make your job significantly easier and shorten search time for new openings.
We spend a fair amount of time at the end of each year, planning for what is next. This includes production goals, Client acquisition goals and overall revenue. These goals are vital during the daily chaos that our industry operates in. It also provides a daily reminder to our entire team what we are all working towards accomplishing. If you don’t define success, how do you know if you had a good day?
My advice? Spend time talking and planning for next year. A good plan executed will surely lead to success.
