Shift Options

Day Shift

  • 6:30 AM – 6:45 PM

Night Shift

  • 6:30 PM – 6:45 AM

Schedule: 2-2-3 rotating schedule

  • Work only 15 days per month on average
  • Built-in overtime every other week

Pay

  • Day Shift: Starting at $18.75/hour
  • Night Shift: Starting at $19.75/hour

What You'll Do

As a Production Operator, you'll help manufacture medical products by operating and monitoring highly automated production equipment in a clean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate and monitor automated production equipment
  • Load raw materials and remove finished product
  • Perform routine quality inspections throughout the production process
  • Identify and report equipment or product issues
  • Complete production documentation accurately
  • Follow clean room procedures and safety standards
  • Keep your work area clean and organized

What You'll Do

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, commercial trucks, trailers, and diesel-powered equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and DOT/Class 7 inspections
  • Repair diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulic systems, brakes, steering, suspension, and electrical components
  • Perform field service repairs using a company service truck when needed
  • Complete repair orders, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation

  • Follow all company safety procedures and DOT regulations

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment, diesel truck, or fleet maintenance experience
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience working on diesel engines and hydraulic systems
  • Valid Class B CDL required
  • Class A CDL is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

TOPS Staffing is seeking a skilled Sr. Service Technician for a long-standing automation and controls company in the Pittsburgh region. This is a hands-on position involving control panel assembly, equipment testing, field commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support across multiple industries including manufacturing, energy, water/wastewater, and process environments.
This role offers long-term career stability, ongoing technical training, and minimal overnight travel (no more than two weeks per year).
Key Responsibilities
Shop Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
  • Kit materials from the bill of materials and stage project components.
  • Review panel/build drawings and report any errors or omissions before assembly.
  • Assist team members in safely handling large assemblies.
  • Build and wire control panels to UL508A standards.
  • Participate in equipment testing, quality checks, and preparation for shipment.
  • Maintain high quality standards throughout the build process.
Field Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety and site-specific access requirements (PPE, drug testing, permits, etc.).
  • Commission and start up variable frequency drives (VFDs).
  • Commission field instrumentation and related equipment.
