Susan Cepicka Dietrich is an accomplished staffing professional with a distinguished history of leadership and service in the American Staffing Association (ASA) and the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of ASA. She served on the chapter’s Board of Directors for 14 years, including as Chairman of the Board, where she played a key role in expanding professional programming, strengthening community partnerships, and elevating the voice of staffing professionals across the region.

 

With more than 30 years in the industry, Susan has been an integral part of the growth and success of our family of companies. Beyond her professional achievements, she is most proud of her role as a mother to four children, finding balance between family life and a career dedicated to making a positive impact on people and businesses alike.

TOPS Staffing has partnered with a well-established manufacturing company to hire an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for their overnight shift operations. 

Shift & Compensation
  • Shift: 11:00 PM – 8:00 AM
  • Salary Range: Up to $75k  (based on experience)
  • Overtime: Straight-time pay

Position Summary
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising daily maintenance operations to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and production efficiency. This role works closely with production leadership, maintenance planners, and management to support plant performance while maintaining compliance with OSHA, GMP, and Company safety standards.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities across the facility
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations
  • Maintain and improve overall equipment reliability
  • Communicate daily with production leadership regarding priorities and equipment issues
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement
  • Coordinate maintenance work with planners and schedulers
  • Develop daily, weekly, and vacation schedules for maintenance staff
  • Oversee and manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Identify training needs and schedule employee development
  • Evaluate employee performance and assist with hiring and disciplinary actions
  • Enforce company policies, regulatory requirements, GMPs, and company safety standards
  • Manage departmental budgets and provide input on financial needs
  • Collaborate with management to meet department and company objectives
  • Assist in developing and implementing departmental goals, policies, and work standards

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Background in consumer packaged goods (food & beverage) strongly preferred
  • Blow mold experience preferred
  • Trade school or technical training (2 years preferred)
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and critical-thinking skills
  • Knowledge of maintenance best practices, employee supervision, and safety standards
  • Ability to attend job-related training to support ongoing development

Position Overview

This role is ideal for machinists who are comfortable handling setups, working from prints, and taking ownership of their machines.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Set up and run CNC lathes and/or mills to produce precision parts

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job travelers

  • Edit or adjust CNC programs as needed (G-code or conversational controls)

  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and gauges

  • Monitor tooling, adjust offsets, and fine-tune feeds and speeds
