AllTek Staffing is partnering with a local civil engineering firm to help them source for a design heavy Project Engineer that has experience in the oil and natural gas field in the Appalachia Basin.  Utility pipeline experience is a required and the proper candidate will hit the ground running on day one with east coast projects.

Job Details:
This is a direct hire position.
Position comes with base salary, healthcare incentives, 401k and PTO


Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Works independently with minimal direction to complete assigned tasks within budgeted hours and schedule.
  • Provides design support for Erosion and Sediment (E&S) Control and Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM)/Site Restoration Plans.
  • Performs engineering calculations in support of engineering design including E&S BMP sizing and placement and hydrologic and hydraulic calculations in support of PCSM design.
  • Provides support and direction to design staff for grading of energy infrastructure including pads and access roads.
  • Prepares quantity takeoffs and bid packages in support of construction activity.
  • Prepares plan sets for NPDES permit submissions.
  • Provides initial QA/QC review of engineering deliverables.
  • Maintains knowledge of current permitting regulations and requirements for projects in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia.
  • Manages schedule and budget for design tasks and provides status reports regularly to the Project Engineer.
  • Possesses ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Assists with the development of proposals including writing scope-of-work and cost-estimates for engineering and environmental teams.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors (B.S.) degree from an accredited college in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of permitting and design experience in the energy industry.
  • Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure preferred.
  • AutoCAD Civil3D, Stormwater Design Software (HydroCAD, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing piping systems, layouts, and general arrangements for natural gas and liquids handling compression facilities
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs, plot plans, enlarged piping plans, sections, and detail drawings
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather design requirements and provide recommendations
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Plant experience to create accurate and efficient designs
  • Check drawings for correct dimensions and adherence to codes
  • Assist in the completion of as-built drawings during and after construction completion

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of piping design experience
  • 2-year Associate's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related)
  • Experience with industry-standard piping design software
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, and OSHA codes

  • Participate in field visits and client meetings as required.
  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Assist in developing, training, and mentoring staff.
  • Identify and participate in professional organizations and networking activities.

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in civil engineering or similar field from an accredited university.  
  • 3+ years of civil site engineering experience.
  • Candidate should be proficient with utilizing design software, such as AutoCAD Civil 3D. Oil and Gas Exp a plus.
  • Plan and construction documents preparation (engineering analysis, plans, reports, specifications and cost estimate).
  • Demonstrated experience with grading and drainage.
