Job Title:
Project Engineer - Food & Beverage and Manufacturing Sector

Overview:
As a key member of our client's engineering team, the Project Engineer will oversee large-scale, high-impact projects from inception through completion. This role is critical in ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects that meet stringent regulatory and industry standards. You will have the chance to work on cutting-edge solutions within regulated manufacturing environments, driving operational excellence, fostering client trust, and supporting business growth. Your leadership will influence project outcomes, quality, and client satisfaction, positioning you as a vital contributor to the company's success in the F&B and manufacturing industries.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience managing engineering projects, particularly within Food & Beverage, Consumer Packaged Goods, Pharmaceutical, or Process Manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams across all project phases—design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards such as cGMP, HACCP, FDA, USDA, SQF, NFPA, and ASME.
  • Expertise in project management tools and methodologies, including scheduling, budgeting, risk assessment, and change control.
  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PE, or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with sanitary design, processing systems, utilities, and automation specific to F&B plants.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
  • Proven business development track record in expanding market presence and building client relationships.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff and project teams.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
  • At least 10 years of project management experience in engineering, design-build, EPC, or consulting environments.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-million-dollar projects with cross-functional teams.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel to client sites and project locations as needed.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety and quality standards and certifications applicable to the F&B and manufacturing industries.

Structural Engineer

The Civil-Structural Engineer will be responsible for aspects of planning, designing, and constructing or repairing a building or infrastructure project to ensure that structures and systems are assembled correctly. An ideal candidate would be an engineer who can execute a project from idea to occupancy with little oversight and who possesses an industrial background, such as engineering work related to chemical plants, steel mills, and manufacturing plants. Someone looking to take the next step in their career who is ready to work with clients, navigate jurisdictional requirements, and design projects autonomously using current technology. We are looking for a candidate who can take the current book of work and see it to the finish line. 

 

Primary Essential Functions  

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project goals
  • Perform structural analysis utilizing software and classical hand calculations
  • Develop working knowledge of building codes (State-specific, IBC, ASCE, etc.)
  • Work with designers/drafters to produce construction drawings and specifications
  • Conduct field investigations and assessments to document existing conditions
  • Develop detailed reports, structural assessments/analysis, and repair recommendations
  • Perform construction phase services such as submittal review, responding to contractor requests for information (RFIs), etc.
  • Meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in collaboration with multiple team members/disciplines
  • Some travel may be required, primarily in the continental United States (approximately 10%)

 

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited university, structural emphasis preferred
  • EIT is required; PE is a plus
  • Working knowledge of STAAD Pro, Ram Elements, or RISA 3D preferred
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk products (CAD, Advanced Steel, etc.) preferred
  • Experience in designing structural systems in multiple materials (concrete, steel, masonry, wood, etc.) is a plus

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a computer or attending meetings.
  • Frequent use of standard office equipment, including computers, keyboards, telephones, and printers.
  • Occasional light physical activity such as walking, standing, or carrying materials (up to 25 lbs.).
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in person, over the phone, and through written communication.
