

Manual Machinist
Location: Washington, PA
Pay Rate: Up to $34/hr, commensurate with experience
Daylight Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Are you a skilled tradesperson passionate about craftsmanship and precision? We are seeking a dedicated Manual Machinist to play a critical role in manufacturing and repairing high-quality mechanical assemblies. This position offers an excellent opportunity to apply your technical skills in a safety-focused environment that values quality and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate various manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, and drills, to produce and repair precision components in accordance with detailed specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics to ensure assemblies meet quality standards.
- Perform precise measurements and inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
- Maintain and troubleshoot machine equipment to ensure optimal operation and safety.
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area to promote a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and solve technical challenges efficiently.
What You'll Need:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to learn and follow detailed training, operational procedures, and safety protocols.
- Effective communication skills and a collaborative team attitude.
- Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, manual dexterity, and fine motor skills.
- Good vision, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to focus for extended periods.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with metal spraying techniques.
- Knowledge of welding methods such as MIG, TIG, torch, and stick welding.
- Familiarity with dynamic balancing equipment for mechanical assemblies.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Training from a trade school, vocational/technical program, military experience, or extensive on-the-job machine shop work.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift and secure heavy objects, and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organized workspace.
- Willingness to assist team members and adapt to changing priorities as needed.
