Position Overview:

You will ensure efficient shop performance, maintain safety and quality standards, and meet production deadlines, all while fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of CNC machinists, providing mentorship, training, and performance feedback to foster continuous improvement.
  • Manage daily operations of the machine shop during the afternoon shift, ensuring production schedules are met and quality standards are maintained.
  • Oversee the setup, operation, and troubleshooting of Mazak CNC mills and lathes, utilizing strong technical knowledge of CNC machining processes.
  • Conduct regular employee reviews, motivate staff, and identify training opportunities to enhance skills and productivity.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and workflow.
  • Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues swiftly, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Assist with tooling, job setups, and programming as needed, with a preference for candidates familiar with Mazatrol controls and CAM software.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize shop operations and efficiency.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to meet operational goals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • At least 10 years of hands-on CNC or manual machining experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of dimensional inspection techniques, including the use of Faro arms, CMMs, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming, particularly with Mazatrol controls and CAM software.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer applications.
  • Knowledge of tooling, job setup procedures, and machining best practices.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma.
  • Familiarity with employee hiring, training, disciplinary processes, and performance evaluations.
  • Experience with Mazak CNC equipment and Mazatrol controls is highly advantageous.

Role Overview

We are looking for a detail-oriented and skilled CNC Mill Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC milling machines to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in milling operations and machining processes will be essential to maintaining efficient production and ensuring optimal machine performance.


Responsibilities

  • Program CNC milling machines using G-code and CAD/CAM software to manufacture complex, high-precision parts

  • Set up and adjust CNC mills, including tool selection and installation, setting work offsets, and fixture setups

  • Monitor and maintain CNC milling machines to ensure smooth and consistent operation

  • Perform in-process and final quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools

Required and Preferred Qualifications

Required:

  • 1-2+ years of experience as a CNC Mill Machinist in a manufacturing environment

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)

  • Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC milling operations

  • Skilled in the use of precision measurement instruments for quality inspection

Preferred:

  • Experience with multi-axis milling machines (3-axis, 4-axis, or 5-axis) and advanced milling techniques

  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks

  • Certification in CNC machining, precision manufacturing, or related fields
