

Lead CNC Machinist
Job Overview
Are you a seasoned CNC professional with a passion for precision machining? We’re seeking an experienced Lead CNC Machinist to join our dynamic production team. In this role, you will lead setup, programming, and operation of high-performance CNC mills and lathes to produce complex, tight-tolerance components. Shift: Position will start out on daylight shift for training and then transition to a steady afternoon shift. Must be open to working 2nd shift to qualify for this opportunity!
Schedule: Monday to Friday (5x8s) or Monday to Thursday (4x10s)
Hours: Daylight- 7am to 3:30pm or 6am to 4:30pm
Afternoon – 3pm to 11pm or 2pm to midnight
Pay Range: $29 – $31 per hour (Depending on experience) Benefits: Comprehensive, with potential for salary increases based on expertise
Schedule: 40 hours/week with overtime opportunities:
- Overtime on Saturdays (for 5x8 schedule)
- Overtime on Fridays (for 4x10 schedule)
- Lead and execute the setup and operation of advanced CNC machinery to produce custom parts according to detailed specifications
- Read and interpret intricate blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure precise manufacturing
- Program or modify CNC programs using G-code or conversational controls to optimize production processes
- Conduct thorough quality checks with calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools to verify dimensional accuracy
- Monitor tooling wear; make necessary offsets and adjustments to feeds and speeds for optimal performance
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following strict safety protocols
- Collaborate with engineers, quality control inspectors, and fellow machinists to enhance efficiency and troubleshoot issues
- Document job progress, tooling changes, and inspection results meticulously for quality assurance and process tracking
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in CNC machining with a focus on precision components
- Proficiency with precise measurement instruments and fundamental machine tool mathematics
- Ability to independently interpret blueprints and technical instructions
- Strong attention to detail and dedication to producing high-quality work
- Experience programming CNC machines using G-code or conversational controls
- Formal education such as trade school, technical certifications, or an apprenticeship is preferred but not mandatory
