

CNC Machine Shop Lead – 2nd Shift (Pittsburgh, PA)

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machine Shop Lead to join our client’s dynamic team in Pittsburgh, PA. Position Details:
- Shift: 2nd Shift, 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM (initial training on Day shift for approximately 1 month)
- Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour, commensurate with experience
- Shift Premium: +15% for Afternoon Shift, +12% for Night Shift

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily CNC machining operations, including setup, programming, and troubleshooting
- Develop, implement, and refine machining processes to maximize efficiency and reduce waste
- Monitor production metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Train, mentor, and evaluate 2-3 machinists, fostering a culture of skill development and operational excellence
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure product specifications and customer requirements are met
- Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations, maintaining a safe working environment
- Participate in meetings with management to prioritize work orders and ensure production schedules are on track
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, including programming/editing, setup, and operation
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications
- Strong background in CNC programming, G-code, and machine troubleshooting
- Demonstrated leadership experience, or relevant supervisory experience in manufacturing
- Familiarity with various machining techniques (milling, turning, grinding)
- Experience with CAD/CAM software is a plus
- Knowledge of materials, tooling, and precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers)
Preferred Credentials:
- Associate degree or technical certification in machining or related field
- Experience working in a mill, foundry, or similar environment
