What You'll Do:
- Design and develop electrical systems including grounding, heat trace, lighting, panel layouts, and single-line and three-line diagrams for low voltage applications.
- Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, and industry standards while meeting customer specifications.
- Size cable trays and conduits, and provide commissioning and post-startup support to ensure optimal system performance.
- Support customer contracts, including 24/7 emergency response and preventive maintenance efforts.
- Conduct research and testing to produce innovative design solutions and continuous improvements.
- Mentor junior engineers, demonstrating best practices and technical expertise.
- Travel to customer sites as needed, including overnight stays, and support on-call duties.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or similar.
- Minimum of 7 years relevant experience designing electrical and control systems.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA codes, NEC, and standards specific to oil, gas, and chemical industries.
- Proficiency in designing grounding, heat trace, lighting, control panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Experience with sizing cable trays, conduits, and system commissioning.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface effectively with customers.
- Ability to travel occasionally and support on-call responsibilities.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with process control fundamentals.
- Familiarity with research and testing methodologies for electrical system enhancements.
- Additional certifications related to electrical safety or industry standards.
- Prior experience providing 24/7 emergency technical support.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in instrumentation and control system design within the oil, gas, or chemical sectors.
- Proven ability to lead projects, support troubleshooting, and mentor junior staff.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to support occasional overnight travel to client sites.
- Willingness to participate in on-call support and emergency response activities.
