This role offers flexibility, with the option to work on a contract or direct basis, and flexible scheduling to accommodate your needs.

Designing the Future of Energy Infrastructure

As a Sr. Piping/Mechanical Designer, you'll be responsible for creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for piping systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Your expertise will be invaluable in analyzing design requirements, recommending solutions, and collaborating with project stakeholders to deliver high-quality results. You'll work closely with Lead Designers, Project Managers, and Engineers to bring projects to life, utilizing industry-standard tools and techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in designing piping systems, layouts, and general arrangements for natural gas and liquids handling compression facilities
  • Develop and maintain P&IDs, plot plans, enlarged piping plans, sections, and detail drawings
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to gather design requirements and provide recommendations
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Plant experience to create accurate and efficient designs
  • Check drawings for correct dimensions and adherence to codes
  • Assist in the completion of as-built drawings during and after construction completion

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of piping design experience
  • 2-year Associate's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Plant experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related)
  • Experience with industry-standard piping design software
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, and OSHA codes

Job Title: Senior Piping Designer – Renewable Energy & Biogas Projects

Overview:
AllTek is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join a leading organization committed to sustainable energy development. In this role, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to design and develop piping systems, prepare detailed P&ID’s, create 3D models, and produce fabrication and installation drawings for biogas and renewable natural gas facilities. Your expertise will directly influence project success, from conceptual design through construction, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. This position offers the chance to showcase your technical skills while making a tangible impact on renewable energy infrastructure.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience in piping design, technical drafting, and 3D modeling within the natural gas, chemical processing, or biogas industry.
  • Strong proficiency with Plant3D and intelligent modeling techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge of P&ID development, piping specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate, timely drawings and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in creating and managing CAD templates and documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with Navisworks for design reviews.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and other relevant engineering software.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience in designing electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Background in gas plant layout, skid design, or electrical systems integration.
  • Prior involvement with project procurement processes and bill of materials generation.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and safety management practices.
  • Additional certifications such as ASME, API, or relevant piping codes.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years’ experience in piping layout and design, preferably within renewable energy, biogas, or chemical plants.

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, and professional development.
