Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer specializing in Controls to lead the design, development, and troubleshooting of industrial control systems tailored for specialized machinery. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing advanced PLC and HMI solutions that ensure our client’s equipment operates seamlessly, safely, and efficiently. Your technical proficiency and problem-solving abilities will be instrumental in driving project success and delivering innovative automation solutions in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic control systems.
- Proven experience programming and troubleshooting Allen-Bradley PLCs (Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000).
- Expertise in HMI development using FactoryTalk View Studio ME.
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude to interpret schematics and troubleshoot machinery.
- Ability to design, specify, and develop control systems or integrate with existing supplier controls.
- Excellent project management skills, including scheduling, documentation, and budget verification.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with customers, project teams, and vendors.
- Ability to travel up to 30%, including international travel.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience programming Siemens PLCs (TIA Portal, Comfort Panel).
- Familiarity with Mitsubishi PLCs and Variable Frequency Drives.
- Knowledge of barcoding, RFID technologies, and automation integration.
- Robot programming experience with Fanuc Robots.
- Certifications related to electrical controls and safety standards.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- 3-5 years of controls engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial automation setting.
- Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley automation platforms, PanelView interfaces, and PowerFlex drives.
- Additional experience with Siemens and Mitsubishi automation equipment is a plus.

- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, with some visits involving out-of-state trips.
- Ability to work in a professional office environment, with occasional exposure to loud or extreme conditions.
- Strong problem-solving and stress management skills to handle complex engineering challenges.
