TOPS Staffing has partnered with a reputable local heating and cooling contractor to hire multiple HVAC Technicians for their growing field installation team. This is a fantastic opportunity to begin or build your career in the HVAC trade, with on-the-job training and advancement potential.

All work takes place in newly constructed residential homes, partnering with some of the Pittsburgh area’s top home builders. Candidates with mechanical aptitude, prior construction experience, or a desire to learn a skilled trade are encouraged to apply.

Job Details:
Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Pay rate: Up to $20per hour BOE potentially higher for well qualified candidates 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Install residential HVAC systems and components in new construction homes
  • Assist in the setup and assembly of ductwork, air handlers, and other system elements
  • Read and follow basic blueprints or layout drawings with guidance
  • Use hand and power tools including drills, saws, tin snips, and tape measures
  • Work safely on multi-story residential structures (must be comfortable with heights)
  • Follow job site protocols and work as part of a team to meet installation timelines
Requirements:
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to accurately use a tape measure and basic tools
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on job sites in various conditions
  • Reliable transportation to/from job sites – Ability to transport your tool box and step ladder (will fit in an average car, does not require a truck)
  • Must be physically able to lift, bend, climb, and carry as required by the job
  • Prior experience in construction, carpentry, electrical, or plumbing is a plus
  • HVAC or technical school education is preferred but not required
